The Comeback: From Slurpees to Burpees… or something like that. ;)

Welcome to my blog!

Thank you for clicking on this post and reading!!!
Launching my blog and business {Eitz Chaim Wellness} is a huge plunge towards fulfilling my dreams! Let me tell you more about myself and my mission.

Growing up in a moderately health-conscious family who shopped local farmers markets and diffused essential oils before they were cool, instilled in me a greater awareness of healthy living. Nutrition and alternative medicine have always been a huge subject of fascination and curiosity for me. As an adult, I continued practicing many of the healthy habits I had grown up with and adopted some of my own. One of the greatest blessings in my life and passions that I’ve developed stemming from my research of natural health care practices has been natural childbirth and midwifery!

Despite having had exposure and access to a lot of information on healthy lifestyle choices… I’ve made mistakes along the way. Really, the last five years for me have… (how shall we say it?)… been less than stellar health wise. Lots of family and lifestyle changes. Two going on three kids! Three moves. Some losses. Just life. Truthfully, as I am typing this I have this huge sabotaging voice in my head screaming… WHO THE HECK ARE YOU TO BLOG ABOUT HEALTHY LIVING? YOU BIG PHONY!!! (Too honest?) Seriously, I am nearing the end of my 20’s, the highest weight I’ve ever been, totally out of sync with my body, trying to survive my third pregnancy with Hyperemesis gravidarum and coping with chronic endocrine issues.

So what inspired the comeback??? After six years as a stay at home mom, I decided to (and needed to) go back to school and work. I considered different options but ended up deciding to pursue life coaching. Over the last six months, I’ve spent time obtaining my life coaching certification! It was one of the best decisions I’ve made. Not only did I learn invaluable tools in terms of coaching, I also left coaching school with a greater sense of clarity of what I want for my own life, business, and my personal health. The whole duration of coaching school I was absorbing information on two levels. On level 1, I was learning the tools and techniques to use in working with clients to find greater fulfillment, balance, and the ability to emotionally and physically process the goings on in their everyday lives. On level 2, I was applying all of this information to myself!!! I had so many lightbulb moments where the bits of data merged into information and then transformed into enlightenment. Learning about the effects of trauma and stress on the psyche, breath work, and somatic healing was a HUGE eye-opener for me regarding just how much the events of the last five years have impacted me physically and really taken a toll on my health.

I went into coaching school fully believing in the importance of doing your soul work and the transformative and redemptive power of emotional healing. I knew that I wanted to share that gift with others via coaching. Post my coaching school experience, my vision has expanded. Now, I not only want to share the power of coaching and personal development with my clients but I want to share physical healing modalities with them as well! After all, we are physical and spiritual beings.
Pain is stored in the body. Real life transformation comes about when you address health and wellbeing on both plains – body, and soul.

I considered naming this blog {Making Maayan}. I am quite literally starting from the ground up to rebuild my own health and reacquaint myself with healthy lifestyle choices. But ultimately, this journey isn’t just for me. One of the best pieces of advice someone ever gave me was, “You don’t have to wait until you’ve perfected something to teach it. As long as you are learning… you can teach others.”
On this blog, I will be sharing my personal journey to health, what works for me, what doesn’t, and the training and learning I do along the way to building my wellness business… for whoever wants to join!
